Of all of the mash ups I did during the lo-fi session I call, 'Mash Up Vacation', this one turned out the most smoothly recorded and seemlessly mixed. My sister Kira does a great job singing a version of 'Summertime' by George Gershwin while I layer the music of Bob Marleys song 'Could You Be Loved' to match. What I love about this one is that it almost sounds like the music and the vocals were recorded at the same time. In the moment, pitching her singing to the music was an issue at first, but I worked it out with a feature on the decks and mixer I was using. My skills never cease to amaze me.
